Meet the provider

Dr. Wasif joins Oklahoma Chronic Pain Specialists from Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. He was appointed as Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA. He practiced interventional pain medicine and anesthesiology at the Brigham & Women Hospital, Boston, MA. He completed his interventional pain medicine fellowship at the combined Harvard pain program (Brigham & Women Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital). He finished his anesthesiology training at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL. He completed two years of surgical training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN and Yale University Medical Center, New Haven, CT. He also had primary care training at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, Akron, OH. Dr. Wasif has two board certifications in Anesthesiology and in Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

He graduated summa cum laude from Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. After his internship year, he was granted a post-doctoral research fellowship at Emory Spine Center, Atlanta, GA. His extensive research on degenerative disc disease is internationally recognized through winning the distinguished award from International Society of Study of Lumbar Spine, Porto, Portugal.

Dr. Wasif has unique expertise in pediatric and cancer pain management. His interests include Interventional spine procedures, neuromodulation, kyphoplasty, ultrasound guided nerve blocks, Botox injection and headache. Dr. Wasif is bringing all these skills to serve patients at Oklahoma Chronic Pain Specialists.

Dr. Wasif is married and has four children. He enjoys outdoors activities with his family in addition to international travel.
